Hi guys. Still looking to join you, but my family have all backed out as we went ribbing last Sunday, and they won't do two weekends in a row My other ribbing mates are all busy, so I think it will be just me. Never launched single handed before.

I've checked with the sailing academy who would charge £24, plus £4.50 harbour dues On the positive side, they tell me they have a waiting pontoon, so I would guess single handed launching would be OK.

Weymouth is the other option, but does anyone know if there is a waiting pontoon there?

Yes they have finger pontoons infact you can launch and drag the boat to it if your on your own, moor up and then park the car in the multi story opposite. It's a nice easy slip way

I should be getting to the campsite approx 3pm tomorrow.

I was going to have a look at the slip as soon as I've pitched. Then I can make a decision on where i'm going to launch Sat.

I'm happy to pay at the sailing club if it means an easy launch/recover and facilities to wash down after. However, if there are people around to help at Castletown I should be ok...?

I'll make my decision tomorrow.

Hope the weather holds......it's been a bit 'muggy' in Southampton...

Nice one fellas....

With help, I'm sure it'll be fine from Castletown, I pressume parking a trailer won't be a problem either?

I'm hoping after a quick SitRep on Fri, all will be confirmed.

Looking forward to it now.

Regards spare seats....

I'll have a space on the bench(fairly dry ride) and one on the bow seat(can be a little wet..!!) I will also have a console seat(fairly dry ride) if I have a shift of spare fuel and dry box.

More than happy to have a crew...however it is a 'leisure' boat, I love it, but it's no cruiser.!!

Actually low tide was at 0614 this morning, the pic was about 0730 so it equivalent to about 0930 tomorrow. I'll check again at 0830 and see how far it's come in!

Are there big rocks on the other side of the slip, or just on one side?

Also...did you say there was parking for cars and trailers next to the slip.?

Thanks.

Big white 'thingies' on right hand side of slip as you look at photo?

I was thinking if I need to 'beach' the rib whilst sorting out trailer, the other side of the slip would be favourable?

that's amazing!

is your camera waterproof?, can you go down the slip and under the water to see if there are any obstacles?

oh I see, to my knowledge there are no major rocks in the water near the shore, one option might be to ask one of the sibs/ribs in the water to tether to, or I have a competent crew member who can manage it while you are parking.

we will muck in together, I have to park too.
