Dononation offer

Craig
We have no boat this year and are hiring Sunday from Largs for 1 week. so if we come up 1 day earlier - we could meet all you Scottish RIB people.
The Saturday trip sounds good fun.
Would you have room for 2. Father and 12 year old son. suggest donation 50 and 25 for littleone.

To assist in planning please reconfirm proposed start time/destination point and estimated/approx return time.

I will drop you my mobile number + email by PM.

If it works - that'll be great and we look forward to meeting those coming.
If not have a great day - all of you.
Paul

Hi.

Good to see so much interest. The forecast looks not too bad for Saturday, lighter winds, and no fronts.

As mentioned, will muster off the marina at Largs between 0900-0930. Still going at the moment, will update Friday night.

We are not expecting everyone who wants to come along to do the whole trip, that's entirely up to the individuals.....Join up, or head off at any point, everyone is responsible for their own boat, and crew.

The route is not set in stone either, if the weather changes, or there is not enough time, we can change our plans. The main thing is to enjoy a safe day out.

As mentioned, it's summer, a chance to get a few boats together, and maybe raise a few bob for a good cuase along the way.

Cheers

Agree with your reading of the weather - cold front should go through about 0000 Saturday, leaving scattered showers diminishing. Wind NW-SW 3 - 4, maybe 5 in gaps...

...sea state calm(ish)

We intend to be on the water no later than 1000 from Lamlash; we may come looking for you all somewhere between here and there. (We'll be mostly orange and white, with a garnish of gull s#1t unless I remember the bucket & brush ) We will be doing the full round, just one stage adrift of everyone else. (Well, someone's got to sort the papers )

VHF: 16 and/or, say, 77?

Oh, don't bump into the MV Caledonian Isles; she leaves Ardrossan at 0945.

Mrs. Grocer reckons she's mugged the customers for over a ton so far...

Who've we got for probably definite so far?

Amber1;
Craig C;
IBWET;
Us;

There must be more somewhere!

Still go at the moment.

looks like showers, moderate westerly, slight to moderate sea state.

If not too bad, will head directly towards Lamlash, off south of little Cumbrae. If there is a sea running, will try to get over to Arran from Garroch head, get in the lee of the island, and will head down the coast to link up with our island chums, then north....

16/77 is good with us.

One benefit of the westerly breeze is that the run to Tighnabruich should be a cross sea, i.e. steadier progress, and not battling a head sea in the northerlies that have dominated the last couple of months here.

Looks like four boats confirmed at the moment, all welcome.

In case you didn't twig, our boat is called amber, and is bright orange.....so you shouldn't miss us.

Will be off the marina breakwater, leaving 0930hrs at the latest.

Cheers

Well I'm still hoping to see you guys tomorrow, the boat should be in the water at Largs tonight, but i'll need to fuel up first tomorrow, so if the fuel berth is busy that might take a mo,.... as usual, work is threatening too but hopefully I can work around that

OK, 17 nm to Lamlash off the pier - got an ETA for us? Rough guess 1015, possibly 1030; we can't leave work until 0930, expect to be on the water for just after 1000. Looks like a match

(Gear's already packed in the Jeep, boat's fuelled and oiled. What else?
The PIECES! Mustn't forget the pieces!)

Oh, Lamlash station may be open for us - I spoke to their head honcho today, and he'll see if there's anyone about. (They open the shop 1400-1600, Saturdays only )
