Yeh, that North Sea is a bugr. After one trip I vowed never to do it again.

If you need help PM me. I run a KAD300 and have stuff you might need plus general boat fixing stuff and I'm Edinburgh area.

And well done, that's a long, hard trip for one day! Actually, well done for all the days!!

Sounds like a long hard day. I missed this post first time around - can you give us more details about the damage and kit that failed? I've killed a couple of shock seats myself and I've always wondered about radar domes in the really rough stuff. Snapped antennae are dime a dozen. What happened to the fly-by-wire? How did you muddle through without it - emergency controls?

Well done on your cruise!

Killed TWO Shock seats?.. In ...HOW long??...you're only a Bantam weight!...maybe you should expand on that...or at least the manufacturer/fault.
Low Mounted Radar Arches (on a RIB)..and REALLY rough Seas..I reckon you know how that one goes

The radar failed twice the first time the cables snapped off the inside of the connector did away with the connector , the second time it’s just stoped working , I don’t think they can take a lot of rough stuff , the fly by wire we eventually found neutral half way up the Rev range which enable us to start it ,but after a hard slam we lost the revs above 2400 so could not let it off the plane which was really hard in a heavy sea for nearly 2 1/2 hours

Looking at pics of rib it was ullmans.

someone told me a few years ago some composite bit can break on them (he said he seen a "few"), as I don't have them I had no idea what he was talking about nor cared too much at time as I had no intentions of getting suspension seats. He described it as some kind of support or spring if memory serves.

As long as no one was injured I'm sure it will be fixable, all that matters really.

Well done on trip and support for cause!
