Sorry for the late posting - I have had no internet! Thanks for a great time everyone. I think we were a little out of our depth with all the other larger RIBs but we made it one way or another! A big thank you to everyone who helped out (on both days) and made the crossing possible. True Ribmanship.
As for gear reviews - 22 year old Humber 5.3, did the job but could do with something larger, a bit tougher and something designed not to hurt humans on every wave! The console needs repairing again and the seats were too low resulting in every shock resonating through the upper body and the console has caused some impressive leg and knee bruising. Full face Gecko was a godsend. Full face does make opening the visor marginally more difficult, and harder to talk into the mike and eat/drink. But it's still all fairly easy to do and to be honest in our rib the face guard came into affect a few times! Neoprene gloves - cheap and good. Good grip, no blisters, warm hands even when wet. Drysuit - a must. Probably not a trip I will be repeating in the Humber and certainly not in those conditions!
As for injuries, JD is ok, I am still living on pain killers - those Neurofen melts (other brands available) were my drug on Sunday! I think learning the best place for the trim helped on the way back, but the adrenalin was pumping too and it was a case of drop into every hole slowly and suffer for a long passage or just do it quickly and suffer for a shorter period!
But glad I have done it. Some good photos to follow...

For those that couldn't make the trip there were tee shirts handed out to those that made it to commemorate the crossing. However there are some tee shirts left over. Now these tee shirts are highly sort after and are bound to become collectors items, they will probably end up at Southerby's one day

Did 160 miles and used 170lt, 50lt from the needles on the way out and about 80lt back to the needles launched at the Hamble.
Fuel consumption went up big time Sunday for me.
My only casualty apart from a bruised bum was the constant wind and dousing in water tore off my life boat sticker!
