London cruise - tbc 2007

I fancy doing a london cruise in the next month or so. could one of the thames based guys advise which is a better date or weekend when the tides would work for this, ie what date options would work best!
prefer a saturday i think

you might want to consider the Sarfend Air Show next ( Bank Holiday ) weekend ?

we will be travelling around france in the motorhome for 9 days from friday 25th so that counts that out im afraid

Tides need to be right as well so we'll have a limited window of opportunity!

If you are launching from Putney, tides shouldn't matter. If you prefer a 4X4 on the shingle if it's low tide and you don't have one, get Chas Newens to launch you with their Landrover.

Best tide table for Putney Bridge is on vesta Rowing Club www.vrc.org.uk

Nah I was thinking of places for 15 or more RIBS to tie up! Its very hard to find somewhere for that many in central London

. Limehouse normally are very accomodating and let us in FOC and more up.

I've got a contact at the Ahoy Centre now and with the other BW staff on the Isle of Dogs. Give me some time and I'll sort something out soon!

PS Anyone fancy helping do safety cover for the 2007 Great River Race? I need to find 40 RIBs over 4m with 25watt VHF radios for 8th of Sept. Must have been on the Thames before and done some safety cover work before) Boat fuel paid for! More info at http://www.greatriverrace.co.uk and the Northern Exposure Website below.

Put me down as a tentative for the river race if you like.

I haven't done safety cover work before but know the Thames intimately, if that's any good.

Hi Hugh,
Count me in & poss another rib, we where thinking of doing a cruise next month anyway on the river from Putney. Worked in London all my life but never been on the river! (all other boats ive had have been 34>40Ft & based in Weymouth so couldent tow um up there so went to France instead) You say the date & we will come along if that fits in with you.
