Jersey & Alderney 2008

Morning Ribbers,

I spoke with the campsite yesterday and they are getting very busy for the weekend of the 9th August due to the Regatta etc. Below are details of the campsite for those who have not booked yet.

This is the only site on the island where camping is permitted. Situated in a superb location, behind the sand dunes of beautiful Saye Bay, just two minutes from Corblets and Arch Bays and a 10 minute walk from Quesnard Lighthouse and the Alderney Golf Club, it offers all the facilities for the perfect, relaxing camping holiday. To reach the town of St. Anne or Braye Harbour, take a taxi or if you prefer your independence, why not hire a car or bicycle? More details on this website page “Island Transport” Campsite amenities include: Ladies and Gents toilets, heated showers, wash basins and shaver/hairdryer points, on-site laundry service, dish washing room, cold water points, public telephone, a shop selling basic groceries, confectionery and sweets, and access to microwave cookers.

Tariff:
£5 adults to £2.50 children - per night

Roy,

I think Hightower, maybe Andre and I are hoping to go over on Saturday, returning Sunday. Maybe Andy Moore too, but looks like he's dropping out...

Nothing definite arranged yet though, I hope to be thinking about it this week, as I'm now off work till August 12th :-)

I'm going to book campsite fr myself tomorrow if there is still space...

Would be more than hapy to be running over there with you You have my number.

Hi Roy,

Looks like you have some good company now for the Saturday crossing etc. Lets all prey for good weather this time.

Seems like there will be a lot of RIBS in Alderney over that weekend.

I will post final plans here early next week for you all

See you all next weekend.

Cheers

Morning Guys,

The weather so far for the trip is not too bad. Here is the plan.

Thursday - Meet outside Yarmouth 10.30am and head to St Peters Port for lunch and beers. Late afternoon run to St Hellier.

Friday - Visit Minquies - Chausay etc and evening meal booked for us all at Waves by the Sea.

Saturday - Head to Alderney for Lunchtime, set up tents etc and get involved in the regatta.

Sunday - Recover

Monday - Return to Yarmouth.

So far I have confirmed 5 boats leaving from Yarmouth on Thursday and several more on the Saturday.

see you at 10.30am Thursday by Yarmouth Pier.

Cheers

Julian
