Hi Ian

Fair Isle is about 50 miles north of Kirkwall so it's not such a long jaunt.

Interesting looking place though.

Fair Isle website

How about summer 2005?

Fair Isle

Looks a bit damp there on the webcam Keith.
But a lovely looking location.

I was quite interested until I saw this on their website.......

"There are no hotels, pubs or restaurants on the island, but refreshments can usually
be obtained - ask for details on arrival."

NO PUBS! Even Lundy has apub!

Ian, I'm surprised at such a question !! You're the first one to RIB into the middle of the ocean and say "wow look at this"

Yeah, but I like to see something! Maybe the photo on the website doesn't do it justice.

You might as well go round Mucke Flugga, then you don't need to go back again.

In fact Keith, you could be the most northerly sib in the UK.

Ah now the idea is beginning to gel!

How about a SIB Circumnavigation of Fair Isle?

A child is born....

'The Great Fair Isle SIB Circumnavigation 2005'.

Oh dear. I seem to remember a similar idea in 2002 growing into a real event.

Keith (can't do it on my own) Hart
