Suspect it'll probably be too rough for us though

Hi Harry,

You not at college next week ?

You and Dave would be welcome to jump on Caprisante.

Broke the top 2 engine mounting bolts on the way to Weymouth last Saturday. Very disconcerting to look back and see your lump hanging at a precarious angle !!

Going to get them to hold the engine on so you don't have to shell out for new bolts eh?

Seriously, did you get it all sorted ok? Any damage done?

Would they be stainless steel bolts, Brian?

Boat is now ready I am told although with the handover etc on Monday it would be a late start to go anywhere so will just play with boat on Solent on Monday, the Tuesday is weather dependant as to where we go but will be there and Alderny works if the gods are kind. Happy to meet up still if anybody interested in a run out.

All sorted. Some good grease monkeys in BIBOA ! Thanks to Jon Adlard and my own Mike. Only damage was a bit of mental anguish on my part...

JW

Yeah, stainless alright. Taking a bit of a pounding after St Albans, there was a muffled bang. Thought it might have been the A frame at first. Didn't see anything untoward from the helm position. Few minutes later, still in an ugly chop, another muffled bang, not as loud as the first. Boat went all floppy, thought I'd broken it's back for a couple of minutes. Looked around again and my beautiful Yamaha was looking decidedly sick.

Ollie,

Weather is looking optimistic. Fingers crossed.

Harry,

Do students these days do any bloody work at all ? ( That's rich coming from me as I haven't done a stroke since March ! ) Be great to see you both.

Brian

Saw the boat last night, if I didn't know, i'd have never guessed you had problems

I think I might be adding some engine bolts to my "boat kit"... never really thought about the bolts snapping before.

I guess one thing, it proves your transom is strong!
