Channel Crossing

Hi, I'm based on the Hamble and looking for tips for a channel this summer to the Channel islands. If there are others already planning a crossing, can I join you!

Thanks

Well the nearest point in France is Cherbourg, but I wouldn't personally go there. Lots of foreigners and rules and regs. etc. Yuck.
I would go to Braye harbour in Alderney myself.
People speak English much to see etc.

Hello Sugar Cane

We're going over in July to the Channel Islands for the weekend.
It's listed under events on the Rhibs Facebook page and leaves from Weymouth.
It's predominantly a Highfield event but open to others.
We're also going over for Alderney week early August but as we're Channel virgins we thought it would be a good idea to join a cruise in company event first.

Alderney week isn't the best time to visit imo, just sayin'[emoji57]

Depends on who you are going with. Four adults and four kids between 6 and 11 years old. Plenty going on that week to keep them entertained.

Note: wife's and young kids flying from Southampton!

We're around that weekend so if the boat is ready by then (should be) we'd probably be interested.
