Daniel,

All you've got to do is to head for Old Portsmouth & you can't miss it (or give me a call @ J9 on the M25 as JCW did on Saturday)

Opps! Somehow missed that - i'm sure i checked tea time but looks like they have been there all along!

If you're connection speed allows could you e-mail full size ones of my boat please? Alternatively i'll owe you a beer or two for a CD in the post

I've now uploaded all my pic's from yesterday - web address on application (PM or e-mail me) rather not publish address on net.

Great day had by all!

Daniel

I've only got a 56K connection, but DJL's got ADSL and copies of my pictures, so he should be able to email them to you (they will probably be on his website in due course - www.ribbumblebee.co.uk). If not I'll post you a CD.

Solent Splash

Hi Everyone,

Well I did eventually make it onto the water, my thanks to Ribald who came looking for me and helped get in the water.

The engine "gremlin" was the ingition key unit had worked loose, but my mechanic buddy helped me to fix it after getting the boat back onto the trailer and back home then back to the slipway to launch again. I eventualy headed out to meet Jason about 12:00 at the Jolly Sailor.

In my eagerness to catch up I blasted up the Solent in glourious sunshine and brilliant sea conditions, untill I was overtaken by a 18ft Skiff!!!!! They are fast.

Eventually I caught up and met with everyone in the Hamble, then to be told no petrol in hamble due to winter renovations next stop Cowes.

Not sure who was taking the pictures out on the water, please let me know.

Once in Cowes Everything was closed now low on fuel .
White knight in a White Valient Rib gave me 2 gallons to get me home.

So guys, I was very imbarrased , lots of lessons learnt but most of all a very enjoyable day. Thank you to all who made the effort to come.

Regards

So when next guys?

I was so impressed with the solent (first time) i'm eagar to come down again - any takers for a round the island trip?

This time i'll have more chance of finding the slip (which is excellent when you get there!)

Daniel

PS: It'll be good to meet the ilusive Kevin too!

Daniel

there are loads of good slips around southampton water / hamble area which are free, easy to get to from M3/M27 and can avoid going into porstmouth

Also more central for heading West to needles or straight across to Cowes & Folly Inn.
