Been meaning to post these for sometime, they are taken from the end of Yarmouth pier. My son is helming in the second pic

Good enough to be.......

..........publicity shots. Amazing how little down wash is created by the helo, I'd have thought the sea would look far more disturbed, very interesting.

They either try and put you in an air bubble so that the boat is in the un-disturbed water or they use the the wind to place the down draft behind you

Yes, traditionally at Christmas time the life boat and a flotilla of boats from Yarmouth and Lymington would go to the needles to give presents to the lighthouse men. Now the light is automated there is little point taking presents so the life boat just goes out for a roar about the Solent And exchanges present with the helo.

My son was lucky enough to get taken this year. He said that unlike a rib he didn’t like the ride although he was impressed by the power, everyone’s a critic.
