Actually with the higher XL transom mine is pretty good - certainly much less inclined to fill up with water than the old RIB, with the freeboard at the transom being an extra five inches. Naturally you can get water in over the transom if you want to but it doesn't very often happen by accident, usually a deliberate deck wash. The fact that most of the pork pies are stowed well forwards doesn't hurt either.
Astern into a following sea gets a bit wet (technical point: is it still a 'following' sea if you are reversing into it?
) but that's not exactly unexpected!
Generally, as has already been mentioned, I've found they go better with the pointy end first though
