You mean like this? Taken on the island overlooking the needles on the day richard b was down there in blue ice (I have a pic of you guys, but not worth me posting it!).

I can't take credit for this pic, it was taken by my mate mike...I was scratching my arse at the time so missed it

Check out www.brokenhouse.plus.com if you want to see more of mike's work, its top quality stuff.

Hi, this is Mike, I took the above photo. I think a basic explination is this. The light from the sun is scattered through the atmosphere which seperates the colours. Usually as it sets we see red/orange/yellow, but when there is a clean atmosphere you can see green, but usually only for a second or two (lasted about 2 seconds on sunday). If there were no dust in the atmosphere then there would be a blue and violet light. Under normal conditions there is enough dust to scatter the green light, which is why its a fairly rare phenomenon.

Hope that helps a bit.

Mike.

Ok, this isn't really a sunset - it's a sunrise

Taken this morning just after 0800hrs looking back about 10miles towards the Bishops rocks just west of St Davids, West Wales.

The sea dropped right off during the day, and although we were on a dolphin survey, only 3 or 4 were spotted in total which was not great but there we go. Would have been an ideal day to take the rib over to Ireland at 35knots all the way.....
