G'day Eddie, yes it turned up mate and it is now fitted - looks great :-). I have also just bought an Evinrude 70hp elpt from Bill Higham Marine in Manchester (ex RNLI) ... Nice.
Still plodding on with the Osprey, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now, I will try to get some more pictures up in the gallery to show the fresh paint and the screen that you made for me. Let me know when you are back and I will get some coin to you sir. All the best. Mark

Mark, if you have a henderson hatch in the bow area the date of manufacture of the tubes will give you an idea of the age of the Rib, because I think that it might be older that 94. Post 1992 consoles had the left hand side flattened off so a outboard control box could be mounted more easily. Also the hulls had a planning wedge at the back. That said at this age it matters not. You will need a mirror and a torch and you are looking for a hand written date of manufacture.

If you don't have a hatch into the bow area then fitting one is easy and give you a large dray area for storage.

The Evinrude 70 is a good choice for the hull , should run about 4 gallons an hour at speed and probably give you 26 knots lightly loaded. If its RNLI then you need premix fuel for it.

She is cleaning up nicely.

Pete

Looks like it's coming on nicely - are you keeping the steering at groin level?

BTW, those flare boxes are a really smart finishing touch and I like the toilet roll holder.

Hi Pete, I was told by the chap I bought it from that it was a 1994 model, I do have a bow hatch and I have had a look for a date but not found one ! The lad I bought it from did tell me that he bought it from the East Yorkshire coast area and the chap he bought it from had the tubes replaced !! I thought I read somewhere that the earlier models never had the 90 litre stainless steel built-in tanks ? Mine has one - I just need to fill it :-) . Yes I will pre mix the fuel, the RNLI remove the auto lube I was told by a chap in the shop where I bought the outboard. I'm getting there now, should be ready for March and I'll be pullin' them cod in ;-) All the best. Mark

Mark hi, I bought a new one in 92 and I could have chosne either 90 or 130L tanks. Opted for the 130L in the end because we took it around Scotland in the 92 Race.

You will probably need a 17" prop with that set up btw,

Regards Pete

Hi Pete, will this affect my insurance if it is older than '94 ? I have the receipt of purchase stating it is a 1994 model and as I cant find any data on her saying otherwise - should I just leave it at that ? All the best. Mark
