Seemed to be. We heard one for an engine fire. Unfortunately, whoever made the call couldn't give their positon for ages. All ok in the end I believe.

Yes we heard that call go out (unless it was another) Chap was shouting he had smoke billowing from his engine room but couldnt see flames. I went out round IOW on the "round the island" race. That was a busy day for Maydays with just constant calls from help coming up

There was one for an engine fire on Saturday as well-same sort of thing. I lost count of the pan pans after the 4th.

There were some serious idiots out there too,-did anyone else hear Solent Coastguard reprimand the guy who was being awkward about identifying himself for a radio check?
