Finally hit the water this weekend, did 4 hours all up

Make/model Gemini Waverider 550
Engine: Evinrude 135 Hp Direct Injection

With 4 people and twins

29 kts at 4200 rpm.
Fuel was just over 30 LPH (but i need to confirm that).
Around 22 LPH with 5 people on board, no tanks at 25 kts

Only issue is top speed seems a little down, about 34 kts, with no difference once you are over 4300 rpm to WOT (4700). Some prop issues to work out Ithink. Prop is a 14 3/4 x 17.

Very happy

Matt

Nice setup Matt, 135 on a 5.5m!!

You should easily be getting 40kts+ from her. I'd suggest a jump to a 19" or even 21" prop to get the best out of her. I run a 21" on a bigger heavier boat with only 15 extra hp with no troubles!!

Codprawn,

Cheers for your kindly comments about the old lady, yes she does go like stink, great fun!!! I have spent some time on her already, the A-Frame is new, and i have spent many hours lying under her scraping off years of anti foul, i have also had the collar replaced, so no more water squirts in between the hull and tubes . I need to spend some time filling some chunks that are missing in the hull (she's had a hard life), somehow strengthen the transome for my own piece of mind (any ideas gratefully recieved) and sort out some seating/ dry storeage (bench seat prob) behind the jockey console. Another project consideration is lowering the Outboard, i'm not sure but i don't think it is mounted low enough

Looks very smick. I have gone for max deck space so no seats, but yours looks very comfy. Was told that the 115 was the nicest power combination with the hull for most applications. How she go?

Matt
