That looks like a fun group. Almost all powered by Yamahas.

Great stuff and great website!!!

Are there speed limits on the canals - would be great to do some of the boat chases around Amsterdam.

Have you seen the film Amsterdammed by Dick Maas - some of the best speedboat chases through the canals I have ever seen.

Amsterdamned

Here in Holland about 50 pct of the ribs are JokerBoats. I’ve owned one too. It’s an Italian brand. The distributor initiates half a dozen trips a year with various destinations. The canals of Amsterdam, Utrecht, Blankenberge, Texel, and so on. Each time there are about 20 to 30 ribs joining the trip! It’s always very companionable and a lot of fun! I remember once in the canals of Amsterdam one of the pilots opened his throttle for a brief moment and there was almost immediately police at the scene. In the house-boat alongside a book-case fell down and all the contents were over the floor. The owner was shouting at the group.
So you will anderstand that speeding in the canals is strictly forbidden and speeding is seen anti-socialy in the eyes of most people.
Dick Maas must have had an exemption. I would like to have one too!
The distributor of JokerBoats is a purveyor of Yamaha outboards. He isn’t authorised to sell other brands. That’s why almost all the JokerBoats are equiped with Yammies. No problem however, they’re great engines. Striking detail is that most of them are all fourstrokes.
