Hello guys,

gret picture and what a good feeling it is to do it!

It's me one of those furniture positioners, firstly theres nothing wrong with fancyimg a hamster it's just a bit embarrassing when they get cited as a corespondent in your divorce case. And you certainly can't invite Freddie Starr around for elevenses.

I always wear a life jacket and that's because when I drive my boat there is always the possibility that I will run out of knowledge and get thrown in, if this happens at speed (and it has) then there is a good chance I may be stunned or injured in which case I'd prefer this to be happening above the water rather than under it

I also wear a Kill cord and feel guilty when I forget to fasten it too myself.

I don't want to open up the debate again about legislation so just accept my views that I would prefer to see Lifejackets be made mandatory, Your's views may be different and the good thing is that's allowed in my World.

We have a pretty fast Rib and we are often out in the Solent and we have responded to a couple of Mayday calls.

Once we arrived on the scene about 5 mins before the rescue services and a Cabin Cruser had caught fire, this was under control but the owner requested that we transfer his kids to our boat until until the rescue services arrived. We lent the Kids some lifejackets coz they didn't have any, just as well the guy had a fire extinguisher.

It's up to you what you do, and you can take the p**s out of us safety equipped guys as much as you want, it doesn't bother me as I just see carrying safety gear as part of the process of paying the Sea it's due respect

that's it now back tobeing Flippant, I think I'll start a thread on compulsory Lifejacket wearing over on Boatmad!!!!!

So who exactly was it who said they either "didn't have life jackets/safety kit/fire exstinguishers on board" or, didn't think they should be carried!

As a person who has all the above on board at all times, it can't have been me! I just don't wear all of it all of the time.

And Wave, you like "your world" where one can do/say as one likes, but you wan't "your opinion" made mandatory for others! MMMmmmn, interesting!

Dunno what grinch will say about this!.....see you on the other side!

Safety kit

Let the skipper explain to the Coroner that he had all safety kit on board...................under the seat!
The sea around northern Europe is not the best place to be at anytime of the year so aids to keep you afloat must be upermost in peoples minds even before they board a vessel. Whether you are injured or not, you can very soon become a statistic.
You get in a car you buckle up that's the law because of the vast number of injuries and fatalities that used to occur. Keep the numbers down on the water by voluntarily wearing a lifejacket/buoyancy aid, and it may never need to involve legislation.

Hi guys,

I agree with Manos on the life jacket issue. Further more I'm sure that Manos can do the same plus no hands.
