VFD Needs A Keel

Our volunteer fire dept has a 1995 Avon 15 Ft. Inflatable Boat. A not so bright individual blew out the center keel. We're looking for a replacement. Anything that will work. The current "destroyed" keel is about 11 ft long with the valve about 24 inches back from the front end. Anyone got an old trashed boat they can spare the keel cheap!!!???

Very similar, I tried to post a photo, but it won't let me from my phone. It's an Avon WP460 15 Ft Inflatable with aluminum floor and 40hp motor. I'll post. Photo s soon as I get to a PC. Thanks!

Hi SpecOPCapt, I have my Keel out making it easy to pattern, did one of the end seams open? Could you post the damage, may be easy to repair.

Cheers

No, unfortunately the shift that attempted to "fill the boat" via the keel valve blew the ever loving crap out of it! In the past the end seals have blown and I've been able to repair it, but not this time. Thanks though!!!

A shop could fab a new sleeve of hypalon and repair, but I bet other areas of the keel were over stressed and may fail. There was a F 470 keel a while back for sale but I do not know if it would be a perfect fit....Sorry Solar had it but it was sold,

Cheers
