I build one out of 4x4 and 2x4 for a suzuki 250, it wasn't that hard. Supported it running too. 4x4 uprights, 4x4 cross to mount engine, and 2x4 legs and angled supports. You can see pictures here, http://www.rib.net/forum/f45/zodiac-...tml#post566854

just a thought. Mine was on there for 9 months. I knew it was temporary so the price was right. The wood is plenty strong. The design was a little weak laterally.

Agree with that, wood is fine if bolted together with threaded rods, penny washers, etc, plus once you've used it you can stick it in the solid fuel stove!
