selecting distress type varies from radio type, some you must use the menu to select then press the red button.

it has different VHF channel frequency's.

ONLY buy radio with CE mark.

Class A - DSC Radio I believe, we use class D...

Class A - DSC Radio I believe, we use class D on our Boats.

These are different features in both sets...all Class D sets regardless of cost have same features...

Just remember - if when you make a DSC distress /urgency alert - you should always follow up with a mayday or pan pan or securitie message via VOICE on ch 1 6 - this will tell non-DSC users that...

Class D is what you find on most leisure boats - in the USA they had a lower version of Class D but this had now be phased out.
