I wouldn’t take it as read that the connections are colour to colour. The yellows may not necessarily connect together. I think I might have an old NMEA gps puck kicking around somewhere. I’ll see if...

Not done it, but the antenna will most likely have a +\- supply in addition to the NMEA in/out. You will probably have to run a separate supply. Did the antenna come with a wiring diagram?
