What kit do you carry on your SIB?
I can’t actually think of anything that is mandatory for leisure boating on the open sea in the UK. Non of the following items are a legal requirement for private pleasure boats under 24m:-

I don’t carry an extinguisher in the SIB. My personal view is that in the confines of a SIB, by the time you’ve got out the extinguisher (and hopefully it still works after being kept for god knows...

We swim off the SIB in warmer climes. To aid getting back in, I clip the painter onto one of the cleats on the end of the tube by the transom. The painter then hangs in a lazy loop from bow to stern....
