My turn to ask a silly question was the plate there to add depth to allow the engine to be clamped rather than bolted on? If its bolted and you dont need the angle of the engine altered should be ok...

Hi, if its a PLATE then wood is probably the cheapest easiest option.
(Do you need it does it add strength to your transom? if not why replace?)

If it's a WEDGE then i believe you can get plastic...
