can you feel it jumping or banging through the engine, would indicate that it's not going into gear properly, you could get out in the water, remove the gear shift cable and put it in gear by hand...

there's no way once it's in gear that it can slip...

there's no way once it's in gear that it can slip as regards the gearbox, if you cant get reverse this sounds like another problem, i think it's time to take it back and complain

put it in gear and turn the prop by hand, then...

put it in gear and turn the prop by hand, then wedge a lump of wood between the prop and housing and try to turn the flywheel, you shouldn't be able to turn the flywheel i'm more inboard than out...

any prop place should be able to bush it,...

any prop place should be able to bush it, streamline props, poole propellers (i think) do a search for prop repair
