Nope, you don't. Maybe they heard of the law change and just presumed it also applies to Scotland. I presumed that too, initially.
I got a trailer plate made up last week with no GB on it and also...

Well now, this is a law only applicable to England, Wales and probably N. Ireland.(Don't know about that.) It does not apply to Scotland. Nothing but your money is required to have a plate made here....
