To put this in perspective, I have owned both Yam & Merc 50 / 60 horse engines of late 70s / early 80s vintage. Engines of both 10 year age...

There is a chance they might be one & the same lump with a paint job......

Mariners have traditionally (since the 70s at any rate) been resprayed Yams or Mercs. I forget when things moved around,...
