Fair enough stu certainly a more thorough way of doing it.
Not sure of your question Knot Yet, Do you mean why do you use it over gel coat or why you seal the holes in the transom.

If your flocoating the deck you might as well do...
If your flocoating the deck you might as well do the holes at the same time but seal them with sika too.
