Yes I have been there and asked , its a good forum for info . i was told that its ore than likely the tach itself as if the signal from the engine was lost it wouldn't be running .

maybe spare fuse and a a spare in line fuel...
maybe spare fuse and a a spare in line fuel filter. I carry a few tie wraps and nuts and bolts incase anything comes adrift and bit of spare wire and insulating tape .
