That's actually technically illegal-they are supposed to be visible and on a few occasions I've stopped and given coppers doing that on the North Swindon bypass a dressing down and taken their badge...

Actually, compared with the M4 in Wales there's quite a few dual carriageways that are better than that-but there's no m-ways I've come across that are worse than that stretch of d/c near Kingston...
