I suspect it is UV that destroys the hypalon. I have a cover that completely covers the tubes when she is not being used, and the previous owner kept her in a garage all the time.

I have a 1987 SR4 which I believe is still on the original tubes and they look great, so 27 years and still plenty of life left in them.
