On our rescue boat we have twin 225 Mercury Optimax, we did only 35 knoths on the call out as it was not red alert, we can do just over 51 knoths on WOT.
Personally I do not follow the F1 off...

Rescue 38 miles out
Last Sunday we had call out as fishing boat has a broke down engine, flat sea and easy rescue, two boats was sent out ourselves (HSSK) and one from Ársćll (due to distance) i.e. 38 nautical miles...
