I bought a new Tohatsu 9.8 two stroke engine from an offshore seller back in 2012
The engine has been used every year on my Zodiac dinghy while on holidays.

Seven years later and the SIB is still fine, used multiple times every season, just back from a week at Windermere.
So our Zodiac 285s is 14 years old and no signs of trouble.

Seem solid, not loose, and work well. Bearings are plastic. Quick release works well but holes need to be very accurate....1mm...
