Regarding narrow roads and passing places. I have found that by towing my 5m RIB other vehicles gave me priority at passing places - even buses and lorries!!

Errr, were your wheel nuts greased? That is a definite NO-NO. There should be plenty of friction to stop them undoing whilst rolling down...

How about getting a bracket welded to the U-frame over the windscreen, pre-drilled for the antenna to mount? It won't take up floor space, you won't bang your head on it, cabling to the radio is easy...

Bought a 5m RIB on Rollercoaster trailer a couple of years ago. Trailer hubs, brakes, cables and bearings were all shot and needed replacing. Managed to remove and replace the complete axle assembly...
