Why dont you just stick the leg of the outboard in a barrel full of water. As long as its running at tickover, it shouldnt throw all of the water out

How about glueing a patch of neoprene to the underside of the wood, where it would be touching the tubes, to prevent wear. The neoprene is softer than the tube so would wear first, and could easily...
