Than you need less water to fill the bracket, thus also less weight..

Only with a lot of load (7 full equiped divers) the bite could be better to have quicker planee. So I am considering a 4 blade prop....

Otherwise use the bolds of you screen to fix the woodplate..

Fix the sensor to a plastic plate with V-bolts so the backside is flat. Than fix it with Sikaflex to the transom outside.
Before fixing it permanent, you can "hang" it at the topside of the transom...
