Shaft length is the only problem I see. Not much to do about that but a jack plate and live with the spray. Personally if it were an option, I would replace the motor.

I have a 8hp Mariner 2-stroke on my Pro 530 with a 115 main. It is a tight fit but works. Max recorded GPS speed was 5.5mph with the main out of the water.

For your application I would recommend...

I do like mine. I use it extensively on the salt water here in Alaska and it does ride well considering it`s length. I run my boat fairly heavy when out and have done a bit of modification as well....

IIRC it should be an inline 4 cylinder like my 115 of the same year (1991). 2 carbs are the idle circuit and the other 2 kick in around 1,800 rpm. Any TCW3 oil will work and a fresh set of plugs may...

Another great trip in the books

My buddy Steve and I went to Seward, Ak for a long weekend of fishing/camping. Clocked about 225 miles on the RIB in 2 day and beat the fish up pretty good.;)

Yep, it`s a Yellow Eye. They have a small limit of one per day where I fish and if you get one you must retain the first one...and it is recommended that you move after taking one.
