Fuel capacity Zodiac Open Pro 650
I have a 2013 Zodiac Open Pro 650 that is supposed to have a 31 gallon fuel tank It powered by Yamaha 150 four stroke and I have all the Yamaha Digital guages that tell me fuel flow and state etc. My fuel gauge is accurate in that if it says I used 18 gallons when I refuel it is dead on. My problem is I have to burn a lot more fuel than 16 gallons to get it to register half a tank. I have hear some of these Zodiacs have 50 gallon tanks. How do I find out from Zodiac if they put a 50 gallon tank in this specific boat. Thanks Jim in Virginia

Run it dry and then fill it full [emoji848]

If it is a US built Pro 650 Open newer than 2010 it would be a 53 gallon tank. Before 2010 was 38 gallon.

Zodiac Open Pro 650 Fuel Capacity
Thanks for the response. It makes sense that it has 53 gals of fuel given what my gas guage reads. Wonder why all my marine survey says 31 gals. Jim in Virginia.
BTW that is good news. I run this boat at 3800 rpm on a regular basis in the Lower Chesapeake Bay. So fuel burn rate is high. Chop is always nasty and it seems the faster I go the more stable the ride. 35 mph to 40 is sustainable in 3 ft chop. |
Just reviewed my hull numbers US-XDCN6521B313. So if it has US it was built in US correct? Reg port shows Connecticut. Is that were it was built. Thanks Jim in Virginia

What is the range of the Zodiac 650 with 53 gallon tank operating at cruise speed. Which I think is in the area of 25 to 30 knots. Jim

So I ran it beyond 31 gallons in fact to 35 gallons at fuel gauge reading of half tank and it said 35 gallons used. I had covered 157 miles at half tank. So my guess is I have 53 gallons of fuel. Range is beyond 300 miles. And that is running at 25 to 35 mph. Anyone else getting the same out of the 650 open pro with Yamaha 150 four stroke.?

Fuel for Zodiac 650
Thank you all for the reply as to actual fuel on my US made Zodiac. I am so happy to have 53 gallons of fuel going to celebrate by going out in the Atlantic for 90 miles to Norfolk Canyon and catch some tuna. Jim
