Ribcraft or Ribeye wanted

Probably a faint hope, but if anyone is thinking of selling a Ribcraft 6.8 or Ribeye 650, I would be interested. Or if you want to trade down could P/X my Ribcraft 585.

Lymington Marine Sales have a 6.8m for sale. £58k! Is that what these things cost.

Out of interest Have you tried a 6.8? I’d always had the idea they weren’t quite so good as they are an ‘extended’ 585. It’s the 7.8 that gets the next mould built to size. This may be rubbish [emoji23]

You’re thinking of the 6.4, the 6.8 is a different beast.

I hadn't seen that one in Lymington, but it is close on twice my budget ☹️. Re have I tried a 6.8, no, but as PD says, it has a great reputation. Love to have a go in one, but I know they fetch top dollar. The Ribeye 650 may be more realistic. But if the right boat does not come along, I will stick with my 585, which is a great rib.

I have a 6.8 from new

At the price they are suggesting under brokerage in Lymington I reckon get in touch with RC direct and just wait.....

Also don’t bother with twins just go with a single

Ah - if only I had the budget for a new 6.8! . Your boat looks great. Is 225hp the limit for a 6.8?

Sort of....

Max is supposed to be 225hp

Basically I know of couple of 6.8s which have Suzy 250hp on from the factory and Maximus will be along in a bit

I went Merc which is a lot lighter than the Suzy and I am very chuffed

Not too many more days before I can go and play again

It all depends on the original spec. My 6.4 was built for twins & rated to 300hp.

Ricks Tis a nice looking Boat...
Mine works pretty well with the Suz V6 250 too....Nudging 50knts...even though she's propped for Hole Shot....and leaps out of the water from standstill at WOT.
Great true deep V Hulls Great proven design ...and comensurate Brilliant Sea keeping....coupled with bullet proof build.
Thoroughly recommended.
If you fancy a trip out and a run/trial in mine sometime ....by all means pm me.

Off to Scotland in May .....but also planning a Lundy run...Scillies....and Channel Islands as and when possible.

This has been incorrectly listed. It is in fact a 6.8m and was used on the Thames at Battersea Powerstation and moored on a floating dock.

Priced at £41k + Vat which is about right for a late 2017 boat and 100 hours on the clock.

The Samson post was retrofitted by Ribcraft and bolted through the hull.

Well thought out specification and complies with Port of London / MCA coding.

For MCA it would need a life raft.

The existing coding would need renewing as it expired in late 2018.

Console includes USB chargers, iPad holder and so on.

In use, I got 44 knots out of her when trimmed correctly. Engine is the later fly by wire 2018 spec Suzuki.

In the current market, that’s a cheap boat.
