4M + Rib wanted

Hi im after a 4m+ Rib for our first family boat to take to Scotland's west coast and pull a skier or toys. I can go up to about £2400 max.Im from South Yorkshire will travel but only at weekends due to work.

Welcome to the forum.

£2,400 is going to buy you nothing but trouble, especially if it's your first boat. You might have to increase your budget some what, or look at a SIB instead.

This is local to you but out of budget. Pennine Marine Ltd > 1996 ZODIAC PRO 11 (470) RIB

This is local to me, but possibly bigger than you want with a brute of an engine.

This time of year there are loads of bargains so that's not really correct. There was a really tidy 4m Searider that finished on ebay last night for £2300. Engine wasn't the newest, but the rest of the boat looked really tidy and trouble free: 4Mtr Avon searider | eBay

If you keep your eyes open I think you'd be surprised quite what you can pick up for your money.

i sold mint quicksilver with 25 yam for 1500, and if not s/r you can get many good boats under 2k if not less,
i rember having £10 sib for couple years 20 plus years ago,

Apologies if I'm incorrect but that looks very much like a scam listing to me. It has all the hallmarks of one at least (specs without much personal description, location, delivery option, single picture free advert). I would say do your checks first, before paying.

The craft shown in the image is NOT a Searider I think it is a Avon Rib 400 so compared to the Searider it is a VERY shallow V hull, in fact just a hard hull version of the same craft as the 400 Avon Sportsboat SIB

I do not question the value just point out it is not a Searider and with a shallow hull and low bow not an obvious boat for the west of Scotland, but it will tow a skier !

Incorrect. You can see the flooding hull hole. It's a Searider.

Maybe it is a Searider, it is an Outhill console, unusual in a Searider as are white tubes with the trim they have and no bailer tube, the plate will say what it is, I see what you mean about the hole, my poor old eyes are just not up to the job any more !

Nice bit of backtracking!

It's a converted SR4 Deluxe (the type with a 'bonnet', 'dashboard' and bucket seats). You can tell from the grey hypalon patches on the forward part of the tube tops, where the 'dashboard' has been removed. This is why it has an aftermarket console & no trunk on the transom - most of the deluxe boats had a moulded GRP deck with a drain plug at the aft end which could be removed to drop any water on the deck into the hull void and out through the big hole in the transom.
