Zodiac self bailer not self bailing

Hi, I have an older Zodiac Pro 470 that seems to be missing a rubber diaphragm in the one way drain valve.

I called the Australian distributor of Zodiacs and he told me that the part is no longer available.

It sure looks similar to Z2218.

Mine is about 40mm internal diameter.

Trying to add photos from my iPhone but failing.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Z2218 is the housing with the flapper
