Zodiac Sea Rider Responder 650

Hi, I am still on a quest to look for an alternative to my SR6 before deciding to spend big money on refurbishing it.

Is the Zodiac Sea Rider Responder 650 an Avon (Welsh Built) boat?

I was interested in the Avon SR670 which from all accounts appeared a bit lighter than the traditional SR's.

From memory the SR670 had a max hp of 2x90 which worked for me becuase I have 2x90hp Etec's on my SR6

The Zodiac Sea Rider Responder 650 has a max hp of 2x80

The avon-military website has been upgraded recently, as is not providing the Specs like they used to.

I am sure between Zodiac and Avon they are trying to mess with my head.


Are any of you guys plugged in with the Welsh Factory, as to how I can get some facts and figures.

Hi Savy,

The SRR650 is not made in the old Avon factory, but in the main Milpro facility in Spain.

You are correct on the twin engine limitations, I think they've erred on the side of caution with these.

We are in fairly regular contact with the Milpro guys here and they're very helpful although answers can be a bit slow coming from the factory.

We are a dealer for their boats as well so would be happy to quote and can ship to Oz no problem.
