Where about on Lake Michigan is this race? You don't own Mad Dog do you? They seem to be the only people importing ZapCats into the States. I am actually off to South Africa next month and I am going to check out some Gemini ZapCats. Some great deals on them over there. Possible buy one and ship it back. Could be a lot cheaper. Pitty it's not the late 90's, when that exchange rate was 12 to 1. I wonder what the market would be like for those little Gemini's here in Chicago. Mmmmmm.....

crazy power at the TOP O' Michagain, the Ceazer is worth a look as well.
thats an OMC CC or MOD50 120+hp@7800rpms with a tiller,
them 3 builders make a good hull just pick the one you like. a flat water would be best out that way.

over hear thay are SLT's,(Super Light Tunnel) that Zapcat stuff is just marketing noise.

the Aquarus is the top end speed hull, not by much but if all you got is 50hp
it will have an advantage, my self i just bolt on a ton O' hp. it gets it done.
let me know if ya need a real MODA, we would like to see ya at the TOP O'.

Hey fred, If you have some pictures of those boats you mentioned how about putting some up? Also, how about some closeups of your boat? Would like to see a few shots if you have them...

What are the key design differences between the flat water SLTs and the surf SLTs?

Off topic;

What is the deal with the various 'Dux' boat brands. It seems like the are a dozen or so companies marketing SLTs with the term 'Dux' worked into their name (eg; Superduxx, Canadiandux, Thunderdux etc...), but they all claim to be in no way affiliated with one another. Are these outfits simply resellers of the exact same product?

tunnel hight is lower, the hull will start "flyin" sooner.

them Dux guys all started at Dux usa, the crew took the plans and split up.
Pool toys.
if you want a nice SLT it will be a South African hull. thats all thare is to that,
thats ware the idea came from, thay test and tweak them constantly to make a better faster boat, I would't take a dux intrade, not even for free.
the S.A. guy i got my hull from is a Loser but the guy who built it knew what he was doin, thare skill is vary hard to duplacate, in the last 15yrs have yet to see anyone from any ware out do them.

Thanks Fast Fred,

My other question is about fabrics. Are all of the racing SLTs made of PVC, or is hypalon also used? Is hypalon to stretchy of a fabric for these boats to perform properly?

ya on the hypalon, pvc is what you want, if your not in it, keep it out of the sun. burp the pressure out of the tubes when your not usein it, it will hold it's shape just fine at 1/2 psi, no need to strech the crap out of it when it's just sittin around. good luck, let me know if you need a moda for your boat, or set up help ,what ever.

Hello Carl

If you are still selling Zapcats I’d like to get in touch with you regarding potential deal – I’m looking for 4 new (or nearly new) Geminy Zapcats (without motors) and would prefer to buy it from the European dealer rather than book it from Australia. Depends on the price of course… Please respond to lenok@lycos.co.uk or post a message to “zapcat wanted” thread.

Thanks
Lena
