who needs a SIB (mad places to launch a rib!)

Thought this would bring a smile...
My SR4 had its first serious outing this weekend being used on the Thames on a camping / activity weekend for a friend's son's 9th birthday party!

When it came to launching I suggested taking it down to Lechlade to use the slipway, but an alternative was suggested!

We put the boat in (and recovered it today) from the field, down a c. 4ft bank, across a potholed mud plain (cows go in here) and then into the weedy shallows of the Thames

getting it out was easier - we put the trailer in position / brought the rib up river quite fast and cut the engine at the right moment to avoid any weed on prop - the speed brought us nose into the trailer - a carefully thrown line / engine up and then winch on... once the boat was on the trailer a tow line up the bank to the landy and pop up she came - hitch on and off home...

worked well... and the boat was great as well - though the Thames speed limit is a little frustrating - the boys loved it!
