I Dont, I only have my boat at Abersoch and it stays there for the year unfortunately!

Haven't seen many ribs round Widnes?

I quite often see a rib playing about on the mersey, under the Runcorn. Bridge. Often wondered where they launched from

I have seen that also, I believe they launch from a private slip way that is a boating club, also they could launch from Frodsham Watersports.

I am always very jealous of them as I usually see them on my way back from Abersoch and the weather is good! However I dont know if I would be first to jump in that water

I don't think they launch at frodsham, I don't think there is a route through to the Mersey? Perhaps they come up from Liverpool ? Would be a good run though

They and I launch from Liverpool Sailing Club which is behind Liverpool Airport. The club has its own slipway, £1 million pound clubhouse with showers / changing rooms and a boat storage park which is a secure compound with 3 security cameras and 24 hour security guard.

Membership is cheap as chips - £135 for a year and boat storage for me worked out even cheaper than the annual fee.

I have a bayliner (I know a mistake ) and my humber destroyer which is a project and won't be going in the water anytime in the near future.

If you want anymore information go to the clubs website or contact me.

Thanks

Gareth

I know we still have freezing conditions and will by boat & engine be ok? Do you have any tips on keeping it safe from getting damage for a few weeks when it could still freeze?

Or am I being too cautious?

Any advise would be much appreciated!

Andy
Hi Andy, what engine do you have? Is it inboard or outboard. If inboard I'd suggest a small tube heater in the engine bay to prevent frost but you'd need power though. If outboard then as long as you leave it in the down position it should self drain after use and not cause any problems. Hope this is some help. Cheers. Peter

Went down to sailing club this weekend for a Friends of Hayling Rescue evening and whilst there decided I had probably better give the rib a checkover, which has been standing outside i n the rib park since October. I hooked up a hose and gave the engine a good flush through. to make sure that the coolant circuit was all functioning and the telltale nozzle was clear. Primed the fuel system, turned the key and it burst into life. Blew the tubes up and apart from a wash, is ready to go.
