What's it worth

I have been asked to give an approximate valuation on a Sea Rider, so I thought I'd consult the experts. Would anyone like to offer their opinion of the value of the following RIB.
1990 4m Avon Sea Rider, Yamaha 40hp (pull start no tilt and trim), single helm console/Jockey seat. The boat has no "A" frame, but does have a trailer. It's in very good condition with great tubes.

I know it's difficult to be accurate without seeing it, but any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

A customer of ours was just looking at exactly one of these, asking prices ranged from 1900 to 2500. The upper price had a new four stroke, the lower an older two stroke.

We sourced one up for a friend /client with an electric start 40 Yam PTT just serviced on galv trailer with basic GPS, DSC, and all kit ready to go afloat for £1k.....IMO that was a good buy, but for camparisons sake worth mentioning

As a broker I would have thought you'd class your self as an expert!

Possibly too polite to say Anoraks

Being £100 out on a sale like that could be a large error...

Thank you MarineSafety, but if you knew me you would know that I'm far too modest to ever call myself an expert on everything. However as a professional I would like to think that a sensible move when forming an opinion would be to use the best possible reference sources and the kind members of RIBnet are certainly proving to be just that!

Trouble is with an SR4, it's all dependant on condition and goodies.

Is it an insurance valuation?

No, not a formal valuation or anything - just a friend looking to clear some space in his garage and wondering if it's worth selling the RIB.

Oh, you are selling. In that case it is worth about 3.50 but I can take it off his hands for a fiver.

Depending on condition of the combinatio i'd say £2.5k minimum but probably £3.5k if really tidy.

3,5k sounds high for a SR with 1990 2 stroke on the back. I'd not expect to get close to that!

Engines worth £795 tops. Hull worth 2k - 2.7k, I think not.

I'd put the package at £1750 and see what interest it gets.

2 grand given the lack of electric start and trim, stick it on ebay £1995 that will sell.
