Putting a Honda BF50 4 stroke on the back of my SR4 as soon as biffer has worked his magic on the gelcoat, can't wait to try it with the new engine

As I am buying new the Honda BF50 seems to be the obvious choice; max recommended HP for the SR4 and it's one of the lightest 50hp 4 strokes around.

And as the tubes are in great condition and the hull will be immaculate once biffer has sorted some gelcoat scratches out it will be a very tidy SR4.

Sounds great!!
Does you hull have the metal bars inside as the knees that go between the transom and the hull?
Or is it the fiberglass type like mine were?

Looking for somewhere flat enough to glue 3 chunks of 3mish long this stuff together to make a tent for the bow of the Ballistic.

(Not that colour though Grey.

Mine is the rescue with the transom bars, yours will have been the deluxe with the GRP knees.

Planning on adding some home made fishing rod / flag pole holders.

Fixing the VHF and aerial in rather than relying on the hand hold and getting the flare boxes made and added for the extra storage.

Yeah. I was surprised to see the zodiac searider has the bars and says max 40hp.
I always thought the deluxe one was just a mod for the later ones

I plan to connect the engines to the chart plotter. Got the Garmin network cables now, just need the cables for the Suzuki's then I will try fitting it all.

The I can see my fuel range and not worry about running out each time I use it

Oh, and I still need to make a drawing of the ladder I want and get it made.

I'm going to fit my new Raymarine a68 with transom transducer - but I suspect that may lead to the rewiring of the whole boat that I've been trying to put off!

The wires all work, but it looks like a snakes wedding under the console and there are a couple of inline crimps that don't seem to connect to anything and have slight rust on. Perks of second hand boats I suppose.

Fitted trim tabs, need to sort out a bit of NMEA0183 wiring when the weather gets drier/warmer.

I am in the process of removing the bow centre console to sort out some holes from previous electronics. Also the boat has ben fitted with a stainless fuel tank. To achieve this without removing the centre console, someone decided to cut the back off the console and slide the tank in. The rear of the console was then fitred back on with some awful stainless brackets. The plan is rather than buy a new console as its perfect dimension wise, to take it off the boat, fibreglass over the whole thing and and have an as new console.

Then I have got to refit everything, guages, steering etc. I also have fish finder amd radio to fit. Once all this is done I will be ready.

I will upload some pictures when the weather allows it.

Cheers Will

Fuel gauge wired into the EMM and eventually wingbacks to all four jockey seats.
Lots else I would like to get done, mainly involving fibreglass/gelcoat but being a lazy git ..............

My plan is now to put mine back together.. I planned a busy winter with my wish list. I wanted to replace the broken 3500c & X102c, replace the broken Evinrude gauges, new batteries, service steering, a deep clean and re-trim - A little too much for my small budget

I added a HDS 5m and 7x and all the NMEA2000k stuff. So I now have EMM & fuel linked to the 2 HDS 5 units and therefore wont add the 4 ICommand gauges as everything is shown on the HDS. I still want to add 1 3.5" ICommand / Lowrance gauge but this is a few weeks off at the moment due to funds, so I am just going to put my old water speed gauge in the hole.

I removed and stripped all my seats as I wanted to re cover them as they are split and cracked but this will have to wait till later in the season due to a lack of funds - but now I have to re build all of them with the old stuff

New batteries and steering service will be done before my first trip out.
