What’s this?

Can anyone tell me what this is? It’s on the top of my anchor locker. Valiant Pt520.

Not got a clue Gaz! Looks very homemade.
Nice to see you back on Ribnet, any pics of your new ride?

Thanks Steve

Yeah we’ve had a Merry Fisher pilot house for a few years. Very nice but I’m looking forward to the rib experience again.

Just bought an older Valiant PT520 with a 80 Hp Mercury. Needs some work but should be a nice boat with a little tlc.

Will add some pictures once I’ve put it all back together again 😄.

It looks like it might have been an anchor arm. Kinda like a little boom arm that you drag the anchor through instead of across the tubes. Only speculation, but the fitting location would fit with that too.

I thought something to do with the anchor. It’s very close to the tubes on the bow so would have to be a very short anchor. I’ve never heard of an anchor arm. Interesting.

Stating the obvious, but any details of the previous owner?

He didn’t know. Bought it to fish from and only used it a couple of times. To difficult for him to launch with his health conditions.
