What boat would you buy it not a rib

As the title suggests what boat would you buy if you did not buy a rib. I am talking modest type boats not the likes of sun seekers. About 14yrs ago at the Dublin boat show I saw a boat called the Atlantis 20 cc it was made in gurnsey. It had an Armstrong type bracket for the outboard motor. The boat had a very good feeling of quality. Simple design clean lines and a very deep vee. Since they have developed the Atlantis 26cc a truly lovely looking boat in my opinion.

PD - if you like the Nordhavns, take a look at Steve Dashew's FPB series if you haven't already seen those (www.setsail.com). Similarly very expensive ocean going motorboats, but some interesting ideas different to the typical trawler brands. Dashew himself has recently stopped building any further boats, but several other brands have started launching similar long, narrow aluminium designs and the concept seems to be gaining more and more traction (amongst the tiny fraction of people that ever go ocean cruising in a motor yacht!).

Thanks Paul, but it’s a moot point, I’ll never have the budget. If my numbers come up & I’ve a spare £5m spare change however.....

I'm going to sell my rib and go back to a more forgiving hull around sharp objects. I love the stability for sea floor scanning and survey work but pvc or hypalon is pretty susceptible to damage.

I'm currently looking at a small 5.40 ocean cylinder boat in full survey for commercial work. The small size means it's still easy to tow anywhere around the country and go where the work is.
