WEEKday Rib trips2

Thought I'd re-start this thread as the last one got got sidlined into engines!

Just a reminder that Graeme Cooper and I are hoping to cross to Cherbourg on the 24th September and return on the 25th September, (Tuesday & Wednesday for us who work at weekends!). Two, possibly three boats confirmed at the moment. Anyone else, please let us know!

Mid week trip

Hello Mike,
I'm new to Ribs and am having my first experience with Ribbing next Sunday with utmost gratitude to The Wavehumper down Southhampton way. If there are any spaces available and you feel a rookie would be of any benefit, to any of the boats going with you and there is a space of course, i'd be well up for it! I am free for those dates or will make myself free anyway, if there is a space on offer. Look forward to hearing from anyone who feels i won't be a hindrance!!!!!

Mike has alerted me to your message.

I live near Worcester, and am travelling alone to Cherbourg, so would be more than happy to have you along as crew if you like.

I am actually hoping to be at the Boat Show in Southampton on the Sunday, then stay down on the South Coast Monday, travelling to Cherbourg Wednesday.

Please let me know if you are still interested, and we can work out the details.

Graeme

Graeme,

I have in my diary the 24th & 25th as the dates. That's out to Cherbourg on the TUESDAY, returning on the Wednesday. Is that what you've got?

I should be run-in by then! (and the engine too!)

Incidentally, anyone free for a day trip somewhere this coming week? Tuesday, Wednesday or perhaps even Thursday? (3rd, 4th or 5th)

Hey Mike

Where is the boat based and where do you fancy going.

I went to Alderney last week and the crossing both ways was mirror calm ( v. boring ). Nice beer though once we got there so all was forgotten !

Might be interested in slipping away from work maybe Thursday.

Any ideas let me know

Regards

mark

OK Mark,

I'm actually based near Slough, (West London) but usually tow down to the Solent. Probably not really thinking of doing a long crossing next week , (may be persuaded if very flat). Maybe we can meet up in the Western Solent? Lets see what the weather is saying on Monday. I could do Thursday but I am clearer on Tuesday or Wednesday!

I make it Mike in Prime Rib II, Jono in TruBlu and myself in Topaz

Anyone else up for it?

That's all that are confirmed at moment, though I have had a couple of other interested e-mails. Maybe we'd better try and co-ordinate it here!? I'm away next week but will try and get the definitive by the 19th or 20th. The last couple of days would have been great!

By the way, I took Prime Rib II around the Isle of White yesterday and it performed very well. It's now run-in and ready to cross the Channel!

Anyone else fancy it? (Cherbourg 24th & 25th Sept)

It's a deal, dan!
I have a few dates in October in mind in case the 24th is Gale 8..... With my luck it will be!
I did an excellent trip to Chebourg last year at the end of October in my first Prime Rib, a 5.8 Mtr Ribcraft. Starts to get cold by November though!

Regards, Mike C

Mike is in the States at the moment - but the trip is certainly still on - obviously subject to weather on the day.

At the moment I believe there are 3 RIBs going, Mike in his Humber 6.3, Jono in his Avon 5.6 and myself in my Avon 620.

If you need any ifo you can alway give me a ring.

I'm back now. Too bleary eyed to say much at the moment as I've been up since Monday morning, Washington time but trip still on, subject to weather. Serious organising in a day or so! Bed now!

Incidentally, I flew over St Johns this morning, (or was it Monday night?) and thought of Alan Priddy down below on his way back. So sorry to hear the bad news! Still a great achievement though! Bad luck guys!
